Wii Fit
This game is going to cost around $89.99 USD with the balance board.

It's pretty much a work out game for the Wii, and while the price tag is a bit high I'm not surprised as fitness related things are usually always a bit pricey.

Seems like a nice way to work out, but I think I'd rather invest that money towards a real exercise machine such as a treadmill etc. This game seems more suitable for kids who need the exercise or for adults who want some "fun" casual exercise.

Anyone plan on getting it?

I also have a feeling that it will sell very well despite the price tag..

RE: Wii Fit
I am not interested in getting this one. I like work outs using weights or a punching bag. But I am sure many will get good benefits out of it.
A good purchase I would say.

RE: Wii Fit
No. It is a great buy for people that don't have any other way to exercise. You know, senior citizens?

RE: Wii Fit
Well it's probably not as efficient as a real work out, but some people can't do a real work out due to their physical condition or lack of interest, so such a game might be able to help them exercise a bit which is better than no exercise at all.

RE: Wii Fit
dx4 seems to be one of the people who think that consoles should only be used for fun. The Wii in the U.S. is being used for rehabilitation programs by many clinics to help people who have had recent surgery to gain their strength back in their muscles and other body parts. Also, it's become popular in retirement homes to give the ability to exercise to senior citizens who, otherwise, would be stuck inside their homes and shrivel up. Oh, and not to mention that they've found that people can lose an average of 20 lbs. in 2 weeks with a rigorous exercise program. Now, knowing all this, is it REALLY a bad purchase?

RE: Wii Fit
Hey, if it helps people with certain conditions, and that means more purchases for Nintendo, which means more money for more games to be made, then yeah.

RE: Wii Fit
To be honest, it costs 70GBP here in the UK, but, think about this for a second, Guitar Hero III cost 60 pounds when it was brand new, and its still hitting the 55 pound mark still now, The reason why it's 60 pound? The Guitar Controller, How many games do you know that are out / coming out that use the Guitar hero controller? 1, and thats Guitar hero:Areosmith Edition, The wii has 10 games coming out(some already out in Japan) that use the Balance board, so I think in the Long run, as long as the games are good, which some should be, Wii fit is a good purchase.

Plus unlike those crappy Work out videos, the game knows if you've stopped, where-as on the video, a instructor could be saying "Yeah, well done! work those hips!" where you could be on the floor eating a chocolate bar.
Nintendo Official Magazine did a report to see if it(Wii Fit) works, and they found out if you do a hour once a day, along with a balanced diet(as ALL workouts) It does in fact work. I think over-all if you are serous about working out, Wii Fit is a great purchase and cheaper than being a member of a gym for 6 years.

I don't own Wii fit yet, but i do plan to, as soon as i've got the cash, Just bought a dog xD
