Hmm, I couldn't name just one;

All of the final fantasies since 6, with the exception of 8. Really, a lot of JRPG's in general. They never try to mix it up, it's always the same old dead and beaten "You are the teenage protagonist who's quiet but strong and it is your job to find and defeat a big demon king/spirit/energy thing who either killed your parents, your village, your father, or something to that extent, but oh look who's that girl yeah she's the cocky, wacky female protagonist and you'll find out halfway through the game that you love her oh and also this guy right here is the big muscular hardass type who is always eating or punching people because yeah he's hardcore oh look there's the magic girl yeah she's quiet and nerdy woohoo and please show us some identification because if any of you are over 20 you can't be the heroes of a JRPG because only malnourished, effeminate, meterosexauls are allowed to be our protagonists".

Metal Gear Solid 4. The game basically devolved into a decent 3rd Person Shooter, with very mild stealth aspects. Even on The Boss Extreme (supposed 'hardest' difficulty) you can still play the whole entire game through just shooting up everyone. Complete disappointment, and a game that only a dense fanboy could love.

Dues Ex: The Invisable War. The original game was a masterpiece, the crappy sequel sucked ass milk.

Mercenaries 2. It's complete garbage. The programmers must be half-retarded moneys.

Many, many more games.

I don't know about you but I think Call of Duty 3 was actually the worst of all the COD games. The maps weren't even that good, and they only took 3 months to make it. At least they made COD 4 though :)

Sounds like they cloned over most everything from CoD 2 over to CoD 3.

QFT. Deus Ex IW wasn't necessarily a bad game in its own right, it just had the burden of being a mediocre game that was a sequel to one of the best video games of all time. Hopefully DX3 will be competent. I'm not expecting the second coming, but as long as this sequel keeps with the spirit of the original and shifts back to its action RPG roots, I'll be a happy camper.

As for my pick, the first one that came to mind was Star Wars Republic Commando. Here was a surprisingly solid tactical shooter set in the Star Wars universe, making it gravy. So you're a few hours into the game, you just lose one of the members of your squad after he sacrifices himself in order to save the rest of you. You meet up with Yoda and he points towards a Star Destroyer making you think that you're about to embark on a mission to get some revenge on the bastards who killed your buddy... and the game ends. What THE F**K. It felt like the story was being cutoff somewhere between a third and half way through.

Halo 3 was kind of disappointing because it was way over hyped.
