Well as above the question is what was your first console?

I guess mine was an atari 2600 back when I was about 8 or 9, now remember we are going back 20 odd years but I thought it was the coolest thing at the time.

The first consoles I owned were a Colecovision & a NES. But I think I only had one game for the Colecovision, and it was Donkey Kong. For the NES I had more games, Duck Hunt and Mario were my favorite. There was also some fighting game but I can't recall the name right now.

Sega Megadrive :)

I can still remember playing Sonic etc on it not so long ago and it's amazing how far things have come in such little time.

I never got to use that console, I had a Genesis instead, which rocked. I remember buying that 6pak game that had Golden Axe, Columns, Sonic and some other good games.

I thought the Genesis was practically a Megadrive? They look almost identical, look like they take the same games too.

I just did some research and yes your right. Apparently the Megadrive was the name for it in the European regions, while Genesis was the name of it for North America, which is what I call it.

However, although it's the same console, the design has some slight differences, but the gameplay should be the same.

Hmmm... Well, when I was young, my sister and I had a NES. But the real first console which was mine was a Sega Genesis. O god what a great console. I still have it too! I had all the Sonics! Even that Sonic & Knuckle cartridge which you open the top and insert another Sonic game. I also had Golden Axe which was so amazing and which is STILL amazing! I still often play it with my friend :P. I had a Michael Jackson game too, which was crazy :P. Ahhh those are good memories !

I think I had something along those lines. Did you have to insert tapes for the Colecovision, or was that something else?

Than after the tapes, I received a NES, and yes Duck Hunt and Mario were also one of my favourites. Also enjoyed motorcycle racing (came with other two games including bejeweled) and also another fighting game. During this period also received the Game Boy, and Donkey Kong was my favourite on that.

Mega drive came after and Street Fighter was my favourite game. I still have this, and then after Mega Drive received Super Nintento and some other ones but, I had pretty much lost interest after the Mega Drive.

MY first and only console I ever had was a SNES.
Still have it and it still works. But it isn't on the TV anymore.
Only have a few games though.
Donkey Kong Country, Yoshi's Island, the smurfs and some skiing game (which sucked).

Atari 2600 and my favorite games for it were Pitfall and Donkey Kong. Then came the 5200 atari, which I did not own, but I made a new friend in the apartment upstairs so I could go and play theirs all the time, lol. What fun! My mom got me a Nintendo for Christmas and I was ecstatic!! Yay, Mario xoxox.
