Water

RE: Water
I personally thought the water in HL2 (at least on the Orange Box SDK) was some of the most realistic looking water ever. I mean, you swim around in it and you see little specs of this and that floating around, pretty cool if you ask me.

Well, what I meant was, you can't do much with water other than what you would expect.

ie, swim, boat...

Unless it's fantasy-based that's pretty much it.

RE: Water
I always thought that the water in Starfox Adventures had great water effects, okay, it didn't cling to him or anything, but the water looked good.

Wealth and fame, he's ignored, action is his reward...

RE: Water
I'm surprised no one has mentioned Bioshock yet.

RE: Water
True that, I mean you are pretty much surrounded by it.

Admittedly, I think there are some places it didn't look as good as I think it could have.

RE: Water
Yeah, when it streams dont stairs/walls, it looks like Syrup or something. But in the opening part, when you're swimming through the plane wreckage, it looks pretty good. Also, when the place falls apart and there's holes that start flooding sections, it looks good.

Twilight Princess had some good water elements in it. Looked pretty good.
Water is about the hardest to achieve.

SDK?

when you're under-water in HL2 it looks great, especially when you see bullets zipping into the water.

Haven't played Bioshock, I don't know anything about it....isn't it a FPS with RPG elements in...

RE: Water
I haven't played bioshock yet either.. But as far as I'm aware, this "RPG" element is just being able to customise your abilities (i.e. I wanna fireball 'em better than I freeze 'em)
