ok what really makes a hardcore gamer??? is it the ones who play only the top hyped games? or the ones who play and have learn about all the aspects of gaming? i for one think that a hardcore gamer is one that knows what the limitations and qualifications of a good game and game system are and also know the roots and still plays the roots of the gaming industry. it's sad to see the world become just another mainstream corporate zombie with games -.-

A hardcore gamer who spends loads of time playing a game regardless of everything. If the game is fun he plays it? That's all. Don't complicate stuff when they're simple :P.

agreed i just want everyone to stop dissing the wii. i don't like xbox but i don't dis it unless i'm just playing.

having a wii is sweet and playin games like resident evil and etc on it is great but just keep in mind there isn't alot of games out there for ps3 or the wii so u cant compare game wise. I love my wii and i play once in awhile but mainly i play with the ps2 and 360...

its a great system and alot of good games are coming out for the wii so honestly get a 360 (NOT the ps3) and then get the wii...

According to Wikipedia, the PS3 has 289 titles, the Wii has 343 titles, and the 360 has 375 games.

However, that also includes games that haven't been released yet. So yeah the 360 and Wii offer the most games at the moment. But also keep in the mind that the 360 was released before the Wii and PS3. So it has that advantage.

Quality Versus Quantity wise, how many heavy hitters they have? We have Haze, Metal Gear Solid 4, God of war 3, RFoM 2, Motorstorm 2, Little big planet, Coded Arms : assault, Final Fantasy XII, Final Fantasy Versus, Ratchet & Clank: Tools of Destruction, and mighty Killzone 2, L.A Noir, Jak & Daxter, Eye of judgment, Unreal Tournament III..etc

Also, hardware wise, the PS3 has blu-ray which enables the developer to create longer games with better graphics, better sound track, better gameplay. Look at how Ubisoft struggling with the 360 to make the game fit on DVD.

Well the point about blu-ray is true as it does give developers more to work with. While the DVD is starting to impact the 360 negatively.

Which makes me wonder how long it will take for PC games to shift to blu-ray...
