You don't need to put it there. There is a way to make it a popup without it.

Next to the "Shout!" Button, click the "+" button, and in the sub-menu there, click "Pop-up Shoutbox".

So you can get rid of the link Gamer, stop those nasty guests, lol.

not particularly. If a guest is allowed to shout, god knows how many peoples days would be made easier if they didn't have to join the site to spread their bullsh*t (i.e. SPAM).

Guests using the shoutbox has it's advantages and disadvantages. But since the shoutbox is not really connected with the forum, them spamming there isn't that big of a deal aside from seeing their crap when you use the shoutbox.

As for the pop up feature within the shoutbox, I'm aware that it works, however it's not as obvious. The top one is more accessible as you can be reading a thread and just click on it, rather than loading up the main page and going to "+" etc.

It was there as a box when I signed up here, and it has stayed that way, so it doesn't make any difference to me what is done to it, as long as I can see it.
