Trillian does like half of the things Pidgin does. Pidgin can set Idle times, you can download text encryptors (if you're a super-secret spy), you can use Gmail chat, you can check all your email addresses, you can join IRC, ect ect ect ect ect ect ect ect ect.

I used Trillian up until a year ago when I found Pidgin. It's like Trillian, but over 9000 times better.

Anyway, it's not 30 seconds, I'm afraid that it's more than 30. 35 or 40 maybe... that's too much I think. Advertisers hasn't come for a while now so I believe that reducing this time a bit wouldn't harm anybody...

How is it humanly possible to read a whole thread in 30 seconds, then form a decent reply?

The time limit is fine, I've never been affected by it. Neither have most. I hardly see sufficient demand for it to be changed.

30 seconds is 2 much i have multiple threads open in tabs
damn on another site they have it as 12 seconds and i manage to post to fast


also having a better shoutbox will result in less posts
if i give gamer the mybb script for a proper shoutbox that you can also have popup in a window will you use it

I agree with Snake here. How the hell can you read a 2-page thread in 30 seconds? If you can, either change your name to John F. Kennedy or stop reading it so quickly that you barely understand the discussion. I've never been affected by it and I think that the only response that takes less than 30 seconds to formulate is a "lol wut?" or something along those lines. 30 seconds may seem a lot for some, but seriously, you MUST have something else to do for half a minute...

The reason for not having a "real shoutbox" is to reduce the load on the site.

As for the current waiting time, it's fine IMO. What I will do is add the shoutbox on the top menu and it will open as a popup so you can talk there while waiting if it makes any difference..

However, it will then be accessible to the public as well so don't be surprised if you see spam on it.
