The Hitman series...
I recently reinstalled Hitman and remembered what I've been missing in the two or three years since I last played. I got the original pretty soon after it was released, looking forward to a challenge that would require a little bit of thought in a genre that was plagued with games that you could get away with shooting everything in sight.
Has anyone else played any of the games in the series? What did you think of them? I think that it's a concept that could get tiring and perhaps by the latter games they were stretching their ideas a bit. Having said that, it's one of few games I've been able to go back to and happily play all the way through again. I most liked the options available - You could aim for real Hitman status and kill only your target, or you could waltz down corridors all guns blazing and still complete most of the missions, the choice was yours. The only real frustrations I felt was the third person camera view which takes a bit of getting used to and the occasional mission which was nigh-on impossible - Anyone remember the wide open snow-covered mission where you seemingly get shot by snipers from nowhere? Still well worth playing, especially if you can find it in the bargain bin for a fiver. |
