The Best Games Based On Genre
There's a lot of discussions here about one console being better than the other and so on.

Now it's time to decide which game is the best based on the genre:

There's so many genres, so I'll start it off with my 3 favorite, along with my game of choice:

FPS - Halo 2/Golden Eye 64 | CS 1.6 for PC
Fighting - Tekken and Soul Calibur
Strategy - Tzar, StarCraft, & WarCraft III all for PC

Counter Strike 300

RE: The Best Games Based On Genre
Eh, I dunno, some games don't fit into genres (MGS-3rd Person Shooter, 1st Person shooter, Tactical Sim, Sci-Fi game, Role Playing game, ext) so I'll just name my 3 favorite series.

The whole Halo series, the whole Ace Combat series and the whole MGS series.

I only played one Star Trek game and it was years ago..it was actually decent. You had to shoot down aliens or something like that.

Is Dominion Wars like that?

RE: The Best Games Based On Genre
hmm. not aliens per se, but just the ships.

the game dominion wars is on pc and i think it basically follows the storyline of the show if you choose to play in story mode.

its the federation the klingons versus the cardassians and the jem'hadar with i guess the neutral races; the romulans, the ferengi, the maquis, and the bajoran.

you pick your ships, class 1-5, then pick your captains, lieutenants, lieutenant commanders, commanders, captains, and then admirals, and you pick items that 'enhance' your ship such as the federations retro thrusters which makes the ship maneuver better, the klingons disruptor phaser which enhances the phaser to damage the ships more, the cardassians fast shields which regenerates the shields quickly, and the jem'hadar's warp drive enhancer, which enhances your warp drive to be quicker.

I didn't play the game that you're referring to then.

Heh, I didn't know that Star Trek games were that in depth. I'm not much into those "space combat" type of games. Star Wars I only played the Battlefront series since they were shooters, as well as some of the old games for the SNES, and the racing one for the N64. However, Star Wars is significantly different, but it's still in that space combat genre in my point of view.

RE: The Best Games Based On Genre
meh, i dont think dominion wars was that in depth. it sounds like its a lot, but i really think its just a good, charge up phasers and torpedoes and do different ways about destroying a ship.

still, its fun =P
