While Mario has been quite active in recent years, Donkey Kong has been relatively quiet, well until E3 that is where Donkey Kong Country Returns was unveiled.

I can't say I'm a big fan of the series but I'm no hater either. It was good, just not as much as Mario IMO.

Anyway, here's the trailer and as you can see, 2D is back:


Good to see that they didn't try to take the 3D route and ruin it like some of the Sonic games...

I'm actually a big fan of the original DKC, and it's sequel. I just wasn't into the third. However, this looks awesome. I love the co-op aspect, but more than anything, I just wanna have a go at another retro platformer. :)

I haven't played the first two, but played and LOVED the third.. Speaking of.. I think I shall go do an illegal act to obtain DKC3..

I loved the first two DKC games. I never got around to playing the 3rd one however, I guess the thought of not being able to play Donkey Kong or even Diddy Kong for that matter swayed my interest. However it has been a loooong time since any respectable Donkey Kong game was released, and I'm for one looking forward to playing this one.
