A possibly insane Nintendo fanboy
Not not me, but instead the creator of a game called "Bob's Game"..

If you go on any non-official Nintendo related news site you'll probably find at least one article about this guy, recently he said that he gave up getting the developer SDK for the DS and that he would publish his game elsewhere. But today it appears that he's back to "protesting" yet again, WTF is wrong with this guy.

I'm not even sure if his game is even real at this point (in terms of it actually being a full length game and not some demo he made to play this little prank).

For those of you who have no idea what I'm talking about he's some background info: The creator of Bob's Game supposedly spent 5 years developing this game so he could publish it on a Nintendo console (he chose the DS) as he's a hardcore Nintendo fanboy. So after developing this game he now needs the official SDK to release it officially, and thus he went to the official offices of Nintendo and they told him they'd get back to him. They never did and therefore he supposedly planned to protest for 100 days on webcam so that they would hopefully take him more seriously.

As of now, the latest entry seems to be a bit of sarcasm about how Nintendo is doing great releasing games like Wii Music and a GameCube port of Pikmin.

Also yeah I know posting this just gives this guy more unncessary publicity, but hey we give Paris Hilton that all the time, might as well "help" out a fellow gamer instead right? Even if they are a delusional fanboy..

RE: A possibly insane Nintendo fanboy
Well he seems to be quite passionate about it.. And if the youtube clip on his profile is right, then it looks like he spent some solid time on it (speed play of one month development in 30 seconds)..

But Nintendo is sort of doing the right thing not giving into the "threats" and "demands" that the guy is giving... He's trying to do things too forcefully, if he just took his time and constantly, subtly reminded them about it, then maybe eventually they would have decided to have a proper look at it..

But otherwise, how he's doing things at the moment, probably won't progress him any further with his goal..

RE: A possibly insane Nintendo fanboy
Yeah he's acting rather childish although I think he's conscious of it and is mainly doing it for publicity purposes as people are more likely to cover a more humorous story rather than something serious.

For example if he wrote Nintendo a new letter for 100 days, it would probably be more effective, however it would not be as appealing to the press as they would much rather cover a story about some guy isolating himself from society to protest etc.

I hope he is doing it for a good cause.
I personally think his game was not taken seriously because it is something foolish.

RE: A possibly insane Nintendo fanboy
Anyway, from what i saw of his game, it doesn't seem like a game that actually would work with the DS's touch pad.. Since, as far as I've seen, all games for DS use it...
Also, whilst I commend him for making the game himself, and it looks like a good attempt from him.. The game graphics and other things, just don't seem up to scratch with DS games of today... Or even up to scratch with GBA games..

RE: A possibly insane Nintendo fanboy
That might be another problem, however with an RPG type game on the DS I don't think graphics are weighed as heavily. But who knows, as this new generation seems to be more demanding when it comes to that and I'm sure Nintendo acts upon what the masses would want.

Too bad Nintendo doesn't go ahead and give what the masses really need over graphics, an actual storyline.

RE: A possibly insane Nintendo fanboy
I there's one thing I've learnt in my time on DeviantART, it's this: some of the stupidist crap will come out of the mouths of people starving for attention.

Actually attempting to argue with a multi-national name like Nintendo is just childish.

Well I don't find anything wrong with arguing with Nintendo, it's the method that this guy used that's childish..

Also, I just checked the guys site out of boredom and now he claims the Japanese Mafia raided his home or something like that...His joke is getting old and he seriously needs some help.
