My prediction is as follows in terms of which console will do the best in terms of overall hardware + software sales:

1. Nintendo Wii
2. Xbox 360
3. Sony PS3

The PS3 MIGHT get close to the 360 if Killzone 2 is good and if they manage to release another decent title by then, if not, it will continue to lag behind.

Provided no sharper economic downturn, the Wii will still come out on top. I'm really curious to see this line-up they've been bragging about that should net the more hardcore gamers.

It might as both Madworld and that new House of the Dead seem quite good. However at the same time neither of those games will probably be enough to make the Wii outgrow it's secondary console status but it will definitely appeal more to the hardcore market and hopefully we'll see some better games after those releases. The Conduit is another good one, as it's an FPS and it looks a lot more promising than the shooters we've already seen on that console. As for Red Steel 2 and No More Heroes 2, still a bit unsure about both of them but I suspect that they will be decent at the very least..

Another problem is Nintendo's online service, unless they improve it, the Wii will continue to lag behind the hardcore market as let's face it, reliable online play is a must nowadays.

I think 360 and Wii are going to tie it mostly next year.
I can already tell PS3 has lost 2009. They won't make a turn around until 2010, and by then, it will be too late. With this economic crisis and all.

The Wii hardware will continue to run circles around all the other consoles while the 360 software will destroy Wii and PS3 software sales. More of the same thing we had this year.

Ya know, truthfully, I believe the only reason the Playstation consoles end up outselling other consoles, is because they keep their consoles on the market for a helluva long time... I mean, they're still making PS2's and games for PS2's as far as I'm aware...

So as such, I reckon Wii and 360 are gonna be the top ones, I'm not sure as to what order. And I don't think we'll be seeing much a turn around for PS3 until 2010 or later even.

Yeah, to me, if I was to ever lay my hands on a Playstation to think about buying one, it would be PS2. To me, it is still better than PS3.
But of course, if I give my money to anyone, it will be the Americans. 360 baby.

Since I prefer Xbox 360, i think the Wii could win, i dont like it, and i hope im wrong, but the hardware of the Wii is nice for the kids, and there are lot of kids but the Xbox live is awesome, and is one of the things that could make Xbox 360 win this coming year

I don't really care who wins the console wars at this point, I just want good games on both my 360 & Wii. Actually scratch that, I meant to say good affordable games..
