I'm not a fan of the FC system either, but it's free so I won't complain :P

I heard Nintendo might start offering some paid service for certain games, hopefully a better friend system will be implemented in it (such as the gamertag system from Xbox Live).

Try working it out on just the wii-mote. I did it for a day and got used to that more than a gamecube control.
