There could easily have been another thread about this game. If there is, I apologize. I would also like to apologize if this is in the wrong area.

Spore is a game I've been fascinated with since it's debut at E3. The game looks like the most interesting thing ever to be undertaken by a gaming studio. Plus, the developers of The Sims are making it, which gives me tremendous hope that it will turn out as great as it is being hyped.

The main thing about it that interests me is the creativity. You will be able to customize your lifeforms to anything you can imagine, or nearly so. It's something I personally love in games, customizability. It lets you feel like your character is truly yours.

Also, the release date has been announced, for September of this year. I don't think I've ever been so excited for the release of a game in my life.

Well there is another Spore thread but since it's rather dead, I'll let this one stay.

If all goes well this game will be a great alternative to the current MMORPG selection such as WoW. And it may even be more addictive. As for customization, I agree with you on that. To truly consider it your life form you should be able to highly customize it, most games have rather restrictive customizations so your character doesn't really stand out much.

However, I'm more concerned about the overall gameplay, sure customization is nice but if the game gets boring quickly what good is it having a unique character...

But from what I've seen, this game won't be boring at all and may even replace WoW within the first week IMO.

I havent actually heard of it until now. this customization sounds cool though.

The whole game concept sort of reminds me of Black & White, however this game is definitely more complex.

Apparently there's going to be a DS version of this game (stripped down of course though).

Well the DS version might just kill some time here and there, but from the look of things the PC version could easily turn out to be a fun addictive WoW alternative.
