Slim PS3?
There's a rumor going around that there's going to be a slimmer PS3 this autumn. While it's just a rumor at this point, I personally think it might be true. I mean Sony has done this with their products before, especially with the Playstation series. The PS1 had a slimmer version, so did the PS2, and even the PSP. It was only a matter of time that they released a slimmer PS3. And even it's not released by this autumn I have a feeling that one will definitely be released eventually.

RE: Slim PS3?
Smaller does not necessarily mean better ... Let's see how good it looks ... I don't like the look of the PS3 big so ...

RE: Slim PS3?
True, when they decrease the size of a console it just usually means it's more compact, however, they sometimes add or remove features.

The PS2 slim for instance had the network feature built in, while the previous model didn't. Let's see what kind of alterations they make to the PS3 slim if it ever comes out that is..

RE: Slim PS3?
Isn't this just a marketing ploy to 'refresh' their products/

Release the original version, wait a year or some months, then release another 'version of it'. In this case, a slimmed console.

Meh. =\

It works though.

RE: Slim PS3?
They did it with the PS2, the PSP, and I wouldn't be surprised if they did it with the PS3.

That's Sony business strategy for ya', make it smaller, and the public, being the majority ARE stupid, will go rabid buying it as though it was a new product.

RE: Slim PS3?
While some people find smaller devices appealing, it's still not worth re-buying a product due to it's smaller size in most cases. Take the PS2 slim for instance, had I not previously owned a PS2 I probably would of gotten one, but since I already owned the original PS2 I didn't get the Slim as I felt it wasn't worth upgrading.

At the same time though, some slimmer devices are better than the original such as the DS Lite. The original did have one advantage though, which was that it had a bigger screen size.
