RE: SHARK WEEK 2008
Shark Fin Soup is horrible. Here's why.

1.) The way the fin is acquired is inhumane.

2.) The fin only adds texture to the soup, no flavor at all.

3.) Seems nasty.

RE: SHARK WEEK 2008
I really don't see a lot of inhumanity in killing for food. Killing for sport, I still am not too bothered by that except for deer, I love bambi. I say kill every shark you find, I don't care for them. Kill it before it kills you.

As much as I love Spielberg's movies (including JAWS), he has helped build up this idea that sharks are incredibly evil creatures that want to kill you immediately. It's a myth that I think has already been busted... sharks are important to the food chain and our environment.

With Shark Week '08 we're trying to "show you the light" with specials like Dirty Jobs: Greenland Shark Quest (Tuesday, the 29th, at 9pm)... that one will help us understand what's going on with all these weird ecological changes in the world.

Then there's Mysteries of the Shark Coast (Thursday, the 31st, at 9pm) in which we try to figure out what's happening to all the sharks along Australia's coast... they're disappearing. Something is wrong, and that cannot be a good thing. Surprised

If every shark in the world suddenly disapeared, then in 100 years the world would crumble (probably the Foodchain or something)

If every human on the world suddenly disapeared, then in 100 years
the worlds would Flourish

heard that wrong some wise guy i met one time :P

RE: SHARK WEEK 2008
@SharkWeek
No I don't mean it like that. I understand that Sharks are not violent creatures, they attack when hungry or scared, not because they are violent. But that really doesn't mean much to me. Sharks are sharks, I don't have to have them alive to feel better about the environment. Global warming is a load of garbage anyway and no one should take it seriously or concern themselves with worrying about driving there car or running the heat.
