Remember Mario Paint Composer?
I remember when I still played my SNES constantly, one of my favorites to play around on was Mario paint, and I'd constantly go to the composer and make my own music.
There's actually a progran that is a mimic of Composer out there on the web, and people have used it to their advantage. Check out what happens when you have a lot of time on your hands, and a bunch of musical knowledge (or possibly sheet music. lol) Dragonforce - Through the Fire and Flames Queen - Bohemian Rhapsody Haddaway - What is Love? I mean, I have a lot of spare time, but probably not that much. lol ![]() ![]() blog|myspace |

RE: Remember Mario Paint Composer?
I didn't mess around with the composer too much to be honest. I did love playing the fly swat game though.
Anyway, while the "composer" definitely has no life I'll still give them props. Sounds great, and it goes to show that you don't need all that fancy equipment to get some good tunes going. And if I remember correctly some DJs (or techno artists) actually use certain retro games to create beats and whatnot. Can't remember where I read this though nor any names.. RE: Remember Mario Paint Composer?
I was addicted to the fly swat game as well. Kinda makes me wish I knew where my mouse was for the game. Our SNES is hooked up in the living room, because instead of playing board games, my mom and stepdad play videogames. lol
A good example of a techno artist that used game music is 2PM. They did one for Tetris. For the record, I'm not sure what bohemians have to do with Tetris. I just like the song. lol ![]() ![]() blog|myspace |

RE: Remember Mario Paint Composer?
Didn't know about what?
Mario Paint, or 2PM doing Tetris? Or maybe even bohemians dancing around to the Tetris theme? lol ![]() ![]() blog|myspace |

RE: Remember Mario Paint Composer?
Really? It came out for the SNES, along with a mousepad and a mouse for the controller. Pretty innovative for it's time, actually.

RE: Remember Mario Paint Composer?
Wow, I'm really surprised that you never heard of it.
Although I must say it wasn't that heavily advertised and due to it's price tag not many people bought it. One of the reasons I knew about this game was because one of my cousins had it. I unfortunately didn't own it due to the price tag as at the time my parents were still buying games for me and well..they weren't exactly wealthy. And yeah it was definitely innovative along with the Virtual Boy. That failed as well though..I have yet to try one of those out for myself though. Perhaps I might eventually buy a working VB off eBay or something. I guess you could consider those things Wii betas on Nintendo's part lol. RE: Remember Mario Paint Composer?
I think I obtained it for Christmas, considering the price tag. My mom was buying me games as well during those times, and I give her full credit for getting me addicted to the Final Fantasy series. She bought me my first copy of VII, and I couldn't put it down.
Anywho, back on topic. I present to you, one of the minigames from Mario Paint. And yes, this one is addicting: ![]() ![]() blog|myspace |

RE: Remember Mario Paint Composer?
Only Nintendo can make swatting flies fun :P
I've also heard some rumors about the possibility of a new Mario Paint for the Wii which would allow you to create 3D images..I think that particular feature is rather far fetched but the idea of a new Mario Paint would not surprise me at all. If they released some cheap carnival games for the Wii, why not enhance a kickass classic? Counter Strike 300 Read The Forum Rules Pwnem Veteran <- This explains what it is and how to become one. |
