Quality Control?
I got a Wii around spring of last year, it's a good console and everything...

But what ever happened to the Nintendo Seal of Quality?

[Image: Original_Nintendo_Seal_of_Quality_(Europ...ustom).JPG]

The vast, and I mean VAST majority of games I've played on the Wii were complete and utter marketing CRAP! Seriously, the only good released or unreleased games I can come up with are LoZ:TP, Super Mario Galaxy, SSB:Brawl and possibly that new Medal Of Honor (haven't played it yet). Other than that, everything I've played/rented is either mediocre to the lowest degree, or just marketing bologna.

The Wii's game Library almost feel like novelty's, like those cheap games you get on your cellphone or something.

So what happened to the Nintendo Seal of Quality, guys? I'm personally disappointed in my Wii.

RE: Quality Control?
I feel that Nintendo was trying to target a large audience with the Wii and try to please everyone. However, obviously it's a very hard task to do and it's nearly impossible.

At the moment it only has games for either kids or casual gamers, and a few titles such as Brawl and the new Medal of Honor targeted at the more hardcore gamer. And since I feel that the majority of Wii owners are either casual gamers or kids, they are satisfied with the current library, while people like you who are into more hardcore gaming (games like Halo 3, CoD4, Mass Effect, MGS4 etc.) will obviously not be pleased with such a small selection.

And since people that fall into your category are probably only a small portion of Wii owners Nintendo continues to do what they're doing as the other consumers are satisfied. And then there's the issue of the hardware, I'm a proud supported of the Wii, but I know that the 360/PS3 are superior in terms of power. Therefore I don't expect games like Mass Effect to appear on it. At the same time though, I still think the console has potential to release games that are just as fun. And let's face it, the point of the Wii is to play a game that is fun and pass the time, it's not meant to replace crack unlike other games. While you may get into the storyline in Oblivion, that probably won't happen in a Wii game, however, it doesn't mean it's a total waste, as you'll probably have just as much fun playing another game. But if your the type of person that demands a great storyline to follow and wants superior graphics, then the Wii is not for you, well at least not as a primary console.

So overall once again Nintendo has continued focusing on making video games fun, I think there's no doubt in that, it's just that they weren't aiming to be the hardcore gamer's #1 choice.

RE: Quality Control?
Which MoH is it? Cause if its Airborne or Vanguard, don't bother... they're utter shit.

I haven't heard about Heroes 2, so I can't tell you about that one.

RE: Quality Control?
call of duty 4 was awesome for it. <3ed it. and metroid prime 3 was good too. <3 wii play (but gets redundant yes). it's such a great console because it only does games. it has the wii games, it can play gamecube games, and it has the virtual console which right now has a very good selection and it can only get better.

RE: Quality Control?
Half the games I've seen on store shelves are Marketing Bologna. Like Ants: The Game, or Car: The Game or something similar.

RE: Quality Control?
Yes, but those games are often in every other console as well, Cars for instance is definitely in the 360. Therefore, you should only frown upon the exclusives as those are the games that really matter. And at the moment there's not too many exclusives..

RE: Quality Control?
Well there's that along with the outrageous accessories, I mean c'mon, do you really need a racket or baseball extension for your Wiimote?

The Wii Zapper and steering wheel are acceptable, but they should be cheaper. I think the Zapper is like $20, and the steering wheel is around the same. I've used the Zapper and think it's worth $15 max. I feel that the NES gun was better though. They should of included an enhanced version of Duck Hunt rather than the Link Crossbow game. That game is decent BTW, it's better than I thought...but still the NES gun + Duck Hunt are still superior IMO.

RE: Quality Control?
NES > Wii IMO

Abe don't like wii, abe feels like the wii was a step down. yea it has motion sensors and what not but still is too for the casual gamer then for hardcore gamers.

RE: Quality Control?
See, everyone will realise that the Wii is nothing but a hype. When the hype begins to die the console will die with it.
