Anybody still a fan?

Last one I played was Quake 2, I got tired of the death match arena type of play. Although I have recently played the Death Match game on Steam & WarSow which are both like Quake

it kinda resembles the whole unreal tornament series

Yeah it reminds me of Unreal Tournament as well. Except I think Quake is better, less strategy and more shooting :P

We used to play it in school last year (if teacher wasn't near us :P ).
Still really fun to play it with a couple of friends.
Can't remember exactly which version it was though... Think it was Quake 3, but am not sure.

I broke Quake 4 by setting the res too high D:

We used to play games in school a lot but it attracted a lot of attention from people who'd figure out how to get to them and then get us all busted so it was sort of the end of that.

Our admin is good though, on days where the whole school is doing sport or something and we stay back he lets us install CSS or something on a few computers and have a few rounds. :)

Gaming at school/college = awesome
Pwning your teacher/professor = priceless

And yeah those games crash if you set the resolution too high and your PC can't handle it. But I believe it can be fixed easily by reseting the configuration right?

Seems the game can't handle it, if they even have a setting for 1680x1050 it always crashes and I'm like wtf I'm not playing this in 800x600 or something where everything is pixelly. :(

Most games work except Q4 and MOH:AA :p

If you play it in full screen mode yeah it looks pixelated and crappy, but if you play at 800 X 600 windowed, it looks decent. That's what I do when I want to play a game and it won't run at a higher res. The downside to windowed is that it can be annoying if your not using to playing games like that, but aside from that it shouldn't affect gameplay unless you had a really small monitor.

i love quake iii arena! i still have the cd for it, i think it was my first game that i bought that was over thirty bucks and i that i got the money all by myself.

this game was for sure meant for multiplayer and if i remember correctly, trying to connect to servers is a bit buggy... i loved reading the descriptions of the characters in the manuals, i wish i could have learned more about them xD
