What are your opinions on having a Pwnem podcast?

One of our members, Side_Scroll'R, said he'd be willing to contribute a weekly podcast if this was implemented.

We'd also have another podcast where anyone would be able to voice their opinion assuming it was within our guidelines and approved by me.

The podcast will of course be gaming related, and Side_Scroll'R already has an idea of the format for the podcast he'd be producing. As for the other one, it'd be pretty flexible as long as it's related to gaming.

Yes, that even means you can rant about a game that you despise..But it can't be that typical YouTube crap where all you say is that sucks. Prepare to back up what you say and present it efficiently.

I think its great, I was meaning to ask you if you were going to use a streaming format, or possibly an RSS feed that can be subscribed to, doenloadable, and is updatable. I wont have a problem helping Side_scroll'R set everything up...but i wanted to check with you and find out what style you are planning to do this in, cuz i know some good programs to use for it.

also podomatic seems to be a good site to host files for podcasts you get 30gb monthly bandwith and 500mb upload space for your podcasts which would be small in size if you use vbr encoding at low bitrates

@ +deagle+, probably. At first I'd probably use some free host to host the podcasts and if it goes well move on to a more stable service even if it's paid. I'll look more into that once I'm ready to implement it, but for now I just want some feedback.

@ squee666, shouldn't all downloadable podcasts work on your PSP since they are just merely MP3 files or are you talking about listening to them straight from your PSP?

I think this is a great idea. I see a bright future to it. If ends up in the iTunes list, millions of peaople would have access to it all the time. That certainly would bring in the traffic.

hmm well...Podcasts came from the iPod fascination for pod-portalble and cast-short for broadcast...making a portable broadcast to be placed in an iPod for the masses..it grew to being much more...and podcasts can have picture slides to them which give it more of an at home feel to it...they also have what you would call a Vodcast...which is a visual podcast...or simply a video podcast. I have made a few and also

*Gamer* you can have an RSS feed hosted from your own computer...I will have to look for it again but there was a program that allowed you to have updatable RSS feeds hosted from your actual computer at home.

Yeah but when you shut off your PC, it's gone..

Plus my PC isn't stable enough to stay on all day. And as for what a podcast is, yeah basically what +deagle+ said..It's usually considered to be a prerecorded radio show.

psp can stream rss podcasts and download them aslong as their mp3

very true...I guess I was thinking of the possibility of converting a PC into a server...I've done it before, but those things are so freakin loud with all the fans going...(sorry random thinking out loud)

hmmm...I see your point, and Ill do some more looking then,

you can host them through iTunes itself where it can be all set and downloadable through iTunes store and what not....its a good thing iTunes can work with windows too. but yet again just another random thought..
