PS3 v Xbox 360
The PS2 was the best console dished out by sony, in comparison with what technology was available at the time, PS3 just really doesn't hit the mark for me, but it is definately way better than Xbox 360 in matters of Graphics I beleive, but I like the range of PS3 games that Xbox 360 doesn't have there own version of.

RE: PS3 v Xbox 360
Ah this thread brings some memories...
Anyway, I prefer the 360 more, however, the PS3 does have some worthwhile exclusives like Tekken and Resistance The Fall of Man. And yeah the PS3 does have better graphics, but a higher price tag (partially due to the blu ray). I have a feeling SnakeTheFox will respond to this thread very shortly, followed by Mohdgame, yes in that order. PS3 ftw! I have voted!
Quote: (partially due to the blu ray). Buying a PS3 is better than a 700$ blu-ray driver right? Don't forget, the blu-ray is currently the winning movie format. Adult industry's already chose blu-ray over HD-dvd. Thus, Blu-Ray will be the winner. I Symphony Developers - We Make Games That We'd Play. |

RE: PS3 v Xbox 360
Well if you look at it from that point of view then yes. I remember that one of the reasons I bought a PS2 was so I could also watch DVD movies, and not have to buy a DVD player since at the time a DVD player costed almost as much as the console.
And it made sense to get a 2 in 1 solution, I was getting a good gaming console a long with a DVD player for a little over the price of a DVD player. However, I don't plan on watching any blu ray movies, so I'll pass on that for now. Xbox Gamer Blog Read The Forum Rules Pwnem Veteran <- This explains what it is and how to become one. |

All I hear is blu-ray and drivers... I do not understand XD I'm guessing blu-ray is some sort of video driver?

RE: PS3 v Xbox 360
It's a video format, VHS was for VCRs, DVD was for DVD players, and Blu-Ray is for Blu-Ray players/PS3.
The PS2's games a long with various other consoles use DVDs as game discs. A lot of new PC games are in DVD format, since a standard DVD can hold up to 4.7GB. The PS1 used CDs I believe, which held only 700MB. And a Blu-Ray disc holds about 25GB, which is more than 5 DVDs! So that's why Blu-Ray movies look even better, due to their larger high quality size. If you download a trailer, the smaller it is, the lesser quality it is. So the same goes with movies. A VHS typically has lesser quality than a DVD, and a Blu-Ray having more capacity than a DVD, has better quality than it as well. RE: PS3 v Xbox 360
Blu-ray has a capacity of 40 GB. And 80 GB if it was quad layer.

RE: PS3 v Xbox 360
Is 40 GB just for the PS3 discs or all of them?
AS Wikipedia says 25 GB, because I know 8 GB single layer DVDs exist, they just don't sell them in normal electronic stores. So might be the same for Blu Rays. Xbox Gamer Blog Read The Forum Rules Pwnem Veteran <- This explains what it is and how to become one. |

GaMeR Wrote:Is 40 GB just for the PS3 discs or all of them? Blu-Ray disks for the PS3 are dual-layer so it has 50 GB Total, not 40 GB sorry. I just checked and made sure. Symphony Developers - We Make Games That We'd Play. |
