RE: Ps2
No, the Ps2 IS better than the PS3.

Just look at the sales.

PS2 > PS3 4ever.

RE: Ps2
At the PS3's current price tag, not any time soon. And even after that I doubt it. Sure, not as many people will be playing the PS2 online, but hey, there was never a lot of people on anyways (at least the games I played).

If anything, people will keep their PS2 as back up console, so when their bored of the next gen easter bunny they'll go play a round of Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 or rebeat Kingdom Hearts I, and perhaps even play Crash since the PS3 hasn't gave him a home yet.

People isn't buying PS3 because it is expensive, but PS3 is better than PS2.

RE: Ps2
The $400 PS3 made a difference though since I know people that bought it and others that plan on getting one which previously didn't want to get a PS3 due to it's high price tag.

RE: Ps2
Of course the Ps3 is better than the Ps2 otherwise there wouldn't be a point in releasing it, what SnakeTheFox means is look at the sales and perhaps Ps2 was better than ps3 considering the technology available at the time.

RE: Ps2
Did you ever drop it or spill a liquid (soda, water etc.) on it?

I've heard other people say the same thing, but I never experienced such problems. My PS2 has never has given me any problems and to this day still works fine.

I think the disks are damaged from overuse.

RE: Ps2
They also tend to scratch easily...but I believe there's a solution to that.

You can buying those kits that supposedly fix those discs. They probably have them at your local retailer that sells video games. You can also use other stuff, Dizzy for instance had a damaged San Andreas disc, I think it had too many scratches and he told me he fixed it by using car wax (or some sort of wax, don't remember too well).
