RE: PS1 Vs. Nintendo 64
well im going to have to go with the n64... even though ps1 did take some risk with games as far is dirty bad fun goes. But the reason im going with n64 is because im a multi player person and ps1 has always been more of a single player console to me... or more... rpg console if you will. there are some good multiplayer games on ps1 but few GREAT ones... in my opinion.

Yeah plus you didn't need an extra add-on for 4 players in the N64. You just had to plug in all 4 controllers and you were good to go.
And Nintendo continued to follow that model even after the N64 as the GameCube had 4 controller ports, and so does the Wii.

The question is: how many time will you play with 3 other friends? Ok, that's an easy problem but there's one bigger...
How can you see your character in the 1/4 of your TV?

RE: PS1 Vs. Nintendo 64
Well if you usually have 3+ friends over it comes in handy to play with all of them at the same time, as taking turns usually sucks.
As for playing in only 1/4 of the TV screen, I agree that it's not the best thing, but if you have a 20+ inch TV it's fairly playable. Also in games like Super Smash Bros. there was no split screen. All 4 players were in one big screen. So the 4 player system was quite efficient for games like that.

The PS1 was mainly just good for single player games, and some two player games which were mainly in the fighting genre such as Tekken etc.

RE: PS1 Vs. Nintendo 64
The N64 had the best controler of any console then or now period! Its one of the things i miss the most. I had the N64 when the PS1 was all the rage and there was games everywhere for it but still I loved the N64 more. I bought a PS1 way later but only because of MGS1. Then I bought a PS2 for MGS2 and now im sick of them all!! Except the N64 but then that broke years ago

RE: PS1 Vs. Nintendo 64
N64 hands down for me.
I saw the PSOne in the stores and I thought it was garbage. I love the N64 controller, the thing is perfect, the graphics were great, and the console has the best exterior design I have seen so far. And that logo on the front made that machine one hot beast! ;) Just joking.
