Prom Night

Prom Night
A vengeful killer strikes on prom night (apparently the killer is a teacher who's obsessed with one of the teens). This seems to be a remake of an 80s movie. Never saw the original so can't comment on it. It looks like a decent horror film and it probably won't have too much gore as it's rated PG-13.

Here's the trailer:

Anyone plan on seeing it?

RE: Prom Night
In a word, no =P

There are too many horrible slasher flicks out now, and this seems to be another one

It's also not a terribly imaginative plot, is it?

Wealth and fame, he's ignored, action is his reward...

RE: Prom Night
I think it was a great trailer. Looks to be it will do well at the Box Office.

Naw, I would, but I'll be busy PULLING OUT MY OWN EYES AND FEEDING THEM TO MY CAT.

Slasher vids without a lot of gore are worthless. The only reason for there being Slasher vids is so people can watch visceral amounts of gore without feeling any sympathy for the person being killed (as opposed to say, War movies, where you might be sad when someone go shot/blown up).

Trying to entertain yourself with a Slasher vid with little gore is like trying to have a child without possessing the proper organs.

RE: Prom Night
Well, if you are going to watch gore, it needs to be the kind that makes you near to puking.

Not really, if you remember Holloween, it didn't have a lot of gore and has gone down as a classic. Slashers are more about the killer and delving into his/her psyche to reveal the reason for their killing. Halloween, Scream, Psycho, etc. What you're talking about is horror, where they use massive amounts of gore/violence to sell a movie. Think Jason/ Freddy.. And a slasher movie that can make me feel for a character has actually achieved something.

I didn't like Psycho or Holloween, and I liked Scream for much the same reason most others did; because it was one of those cult-classic movies everyone had to see, for whatever reason. Other than that, Scream was mediocre at best. Also, Freddy was extremely psychological, and Jason was a badass. This movie seems to be neither of those.

Yeah once you grow up and realize the null-practicality of everything that supposodly happened in that movie, you realize how horrible it really war.

Blair Witch Project 2 was an utter disaster. Horrible beyond any words I could conceive.

RE: Prom Night
Blair Witch was a gimmick, to make money off of something that is "real." Funny how you have so many videos on the internet being called FAKE, but that was the biggest "fake vid" of all.
