Program interaction, and the story thereof
I use a mix of RealPlayer, and the Youtube Downloader, to get videos on my iPod, I also use it to put my own Halo videos on there.
But I recently found out that certain Flash music Players allow this to occur with the sound files, I warned My favorite band as they are releasing a CD this month and they were allowing people use their music on Myspace, till I found out that as long as you do it in IE, you can copy the songs from right there! I didn't think bands payed attention, till I saw that minutes after my message the songs were removed, Guess I get brownie points. ![]() ![]() Am I the only one who has found criminal opportunities in Harmless programs? RE: Program interaction, and the story thereof
It's a bit unclear to me what you're saying.
If you're referring to the music files being stored in the user's cache, that's normal. And yes people could swipe songs like that but removing those flash music players does more harm than good IMO. Those bands need all the promotion they can get, and embedding songs on pages helps them get free exposure. RE: Program interaction, and the story thereof
I meant that realplayer will allow you to take songs out of the flash player on the bands myspace.
Like copying the song to your PC, and I don't see that losing the opportunity to sell a song before it comes out is good for the band. Recon Armor ![]() /\Nailpoint- Close Your Eyes/\ |

RE: Program interaction, and the story thereof
Oh, yeah but the thing is even IF Realplayer couldn't do that, there's still ways to get that song. But yes it does make it a whole lot easier to obtain the song.
I guess it's up to the band to decide, but I'll say this much, if the fans really like their music they'll buy the song/merchandise. If not, then they'll find a way to get the songs for free anyway. RE: Program interaction, and the story thereof
I just meant that the average guy isn't savvy enough to get it that way, Realplayer is common, this seems to me like a bigger risk.
But yes, I think that REAL fans won't jack the CD, they'll support the band. Recon Armor ![]() /\Nailpoint- Close Your Eyes/\ |
