It's a rather common bird. It's around my farm, around my school, where I used to live (4 hour drive away), etc..

I'm tempted to make a "who doesn't have a pet" thread..

The last time I owned any pets was when I was real young, less than 5 years old. I just have vague memories about them. To be honest I had forgotten I had ever owned a pet until one day some years after I'm looking through an old photo album and notice that in the picture I was playing with a dog. That was my dog...Apparently out of the dogs I had, one of them got stolen and the other got out of the fence and never came back (if I remember what my parents told me correctly). However, in my household we had a fish once, but technically it wasn't my pet.

Sometimes you get pets that aren't too loyal, and you get ones that stay with you until they die. Mind you my cat does not wear a collar. We quit putting one on her about a year ago. And she goes outside every night, so she has plenty of opportunities to leave if she wanted, but she stays with us. She drank a little antifreeze once that had her sick for a week. We did repair on the old car, and there must have been a few drops we didn't know about.The next day she was acting very weird. Had to force feed her, she couldn't walk, I had to take her outside to poop and pee, she just stayed in a basket most of the time.
