If you're going to say something, say it AT LEAST with some f**king solidity. Not, 'I think', 'in my opinion'.

Well in some cases, I use the "IMO" thing as a courtesy. Because sometimes I find that without it, it sounds like I'm trying to tell THEM what to think.

That's why I said, of course we know that it is 'your opinion'. You just basically stated the obvious; regurgitating what I just said. In your ears and out of your mouth.

Not exactly. There is a difference between "opinionated" and "courteous".

Sure it's your post, hence your opinion, but occasionally that post sounds like your trying to force your opinion onto others, trying to MAKE them see your point. However, occasionally, if you add "IMO" it sounds less of an aggressive post.

For example, if I were to make a thread boasting about something I just bought or made, and it was red. If someone were to post on the thread "It should be yellow." I'd think that they were telling me that I should make it yellow and I'd probably have a go at them. However, if they were to post "It should be yellow IMO." I'd be less likely to have a go at them.

Anyhow, it all depends on what mentality you read a post with, whether you see the upside of every post, or whether you take everything in a different light. I read things with a more critical outlook then some, thus I'd prefer someone to state whether it was an opinion and not a statement.

It's like saying, I hate Asian people. Am I racist? No, because I didn't add the word 'all' to it. It's pointless.

Adding three words to the end of your 'opinion/statement' isn't going to make you any safer.

Yes a lot of Americans have family problems, and I am one of them. I have about 20 cousins, I haven't seen but 2 of them in the past 12 years.
