Actually they speculate the problem to be that because GTA IV has no load screens, the games cache is being overloaded because nothing is ever really "cleared". Which would make sense, there's tons of shit in GTA IV, coffee cups that people drop, papers whipping in the wind, car parts falling off, ect.

Well, I have a game called "just cause" in Ps2 and it has loading screens and no flying papers etc. It still started freezing after a month... Anyway, I have heard that sony doesn't make good CD/DVD readers for the products. I think that is true because my DVD player also stopped working a few weeks later.

But it's not just Sony though.. It's also screwing up on the 360. Sure some things from Sony may be a little faulty *Looking at my tv*, but it's not really their fault.

... I didn't mention a product without a reader. TVs don't have cd/dvd readers. The other products (I think) = top quality.

That would be a problem with the PS2 lens, sir.

Give them a wipe with a clean cloth, PS2's are know for breaking alot, but really most of the times it's the lens that is dirty, If that doesn't work, it's the disc.

It's not just Rockstar, Nintendo with Brawl anyone? I had the brawl problem, had to buy a brand new wii to fix it.(I imported, so I'd have to pay 70 pound to get a cleaning)

All I know is, I can't play GTA IV. I just can't play it. I'm torn between waiting for the imminent patch (there f**king better be a patch, or I'm going to kill someone), or just taking it back for a refund, and saying f**k it, I give up.

I feel timed on missions, and can't enjoy them because I only have 10-20 minutes to player, and this is after it crashes in in the first 1-5 minutes, then occasionally I'll make it past that barrier, 1 out of 10 times, and then I'll say "K, now I've moved to the 10-20 minute barrier", and I haven't been able to move past it since.

It's unbelievable, it's why I'm losing faith in the current generation of gaming. Almost all the companies are like "HEY, LET'S RELEASE A GAME FULL OF HOLES AND GLITCHES, BUT THEN PATCH IT UP 2-3 MONTHS LATER, WOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!". It's bullshit.

If you mean the cd/dvd reader when you say lens then you're write, but the company have to clean this, not me... As for the Cd/dvd, it is as clean as ever.

Anyway, "the broken gen" exists because the producers of the consoles doesn't give a #### if we encounter a problem. (the cd are made to broke 'cause of their low quality) Because the most users of these consoles are children they think their parents will think that their children broke the cd or something so they will not complain to the company...

I heard on Xplay that they were releasing a patch for that for the PS3.

It's never froze for me or my boyfriend. Which is reason #249 why the 360 is better than the PS3.

the main problem i have with GTA IV is people making a scary post like this :| some people need help
