RE: My main problem with GTA IV...
My friend who lives afew floors up, bought GTA on release(I don't know what system, as he owns all 3) but he told me that he'd taken it back 3 times now, because it kept frozen, It's a problem with some of the GTA disc's, there's a few articles on the net about it, just return it for a brand new copy, if you kept your receipt there shouldn't be a problem.

But the thing is that it's no good for Rockstar. For starters, they're getting a lot of fans angry at the moment, not to mention the $'s that they're losing over every copy returned. So they better figure it out sooner rather than later, or they're reputation for reliability is fuc*ed. (Mind you I don't know they're reliability thus far)

RE: My main problem with GTA IV...
I'm glad I read this before buying it, I'll probably wait a bit longer then until a solution is found as I don't want to take the chance of getting a defective disc and then the retailer giving me problems (even though the chances of this aren't too high, but I don't want to blow $60 down the drain).

If you keep the reciept, 99.99998% of places will let you take it back for either a refund or at least Store Credit (which you can use to buy another copy, or a different game, or maybe some Tampons, or even Coco Pebbles).

RE: My main problem with GTA IV...
Heheh, I know the problem. The data files contained in the cd/dvd are that big that they cannot "put" them all in. So they compress the files very much and naturally the console cannot read them properly. We can meet the same problem with: other GTAs, Starwars : battleground and Grand tourismo.

Actually they speculate the problem to be that because GTA IV has no load screens, the games cache is being overloaded because nothing is ever really "cleared". Which would make sense, there's tons of shit in GTA IV, coffee cups that people drop, papers whipping in the wind, car parts falling off, ect.

D:

You don't get Coco Pebbles? What a backwards society Australia is...

Jk, but that does suck. You need moar Coco Pebbles NAO! Order it off Ebay.

Anyhow, apparently, 37% of Gamers are having problems with GTA IV, sauce:

RE: My main problem with GTA IV...
I had a person at my store return a whole xbox because she bought it yesterday with a copy of GTA. She thought it was the system, and i remembered about the issue after she left. $400 down the drain.

What an idiot. She could of fuckin' googled ONCE, and saw that the problem wasn't even with her console. That's natural selection of the gaming world, though.

RE: My main problem with GTA IV...
So how'd she lose the $400? If the console was ok, then no harm. She'd still have a console. Unless the console was busted and she voided her warranty somehow.
