Well, I had that LAN Party I was talking about in the other thread I created the other day. And I was quite happy with it..

I told everyone to show up at around midday-ish, and was quite devastated when no one showed up for an hour or two after midday. Anyhow, I got a phone call at around 3pm from one of the groups, and they were about 5 mins away.. Anyhow, they rolled up and I showed 'em about the place. Showed 'em the camel, then we played with guillotine with the tyre swing.

But when the next group rolled up, we moved inside and set up the 360's, and started to have a few games.. Eventually the last lot arrived with the third 360, so we set that upstairs with a 20m cable running down.

Probably the most hectic part of the night was the food... See, my mum cooked up the meat and sauce for both a stroganoff and a bolognas, and I had to cook up enough rice and pasta for 10 other people, AND myself, AND my parents... So that took long enough as it was, since I had to cook 2 batches of each to have enough..

And from that point on, everyone stayed up until at least midnight, with 2 or 3 of us not sleeping at all. Where when it was only the 2 of us, I snuck into one of the rooms where everyone was sleeping to hook up the internet so we could play some LIVE.

Anyway, the next morning when everyone was awake and hungry, I took out the pizza oven and we cooked some frozen pizzas for breakfast, where I stupidly burnt myself.. I was pulling out a cooked pizza when the tray fell and the pizza landed on the element.. So to stop that, I reflexively grabbed the tray.... Not pretty. I've got burns on 7 of my 8 fingers and on both thumbs, also have two burn lines down the middle of each palm.

And when leaving, they left in groups again.. Now one of my mates only recently got a new $20,000 car from his grandparents for his birthday.. And as a prank, we filled his windscreen squirter things with piss (i.e. urine) during the night.. And funnily enough, that morning, the first thing he did was squirt his windscreen.. I don't think he realised, but it was funny nonetheless...

Anyhow that was about 2 days ago, and I still haven't quite recuperated from the lack of sleep yet... But yeah, it was all fun in the end. But the cleanup was horrible.. There were lollies in some of the most obscure places....

Clean up usually sucks, but as long as you had fun it's worthwile.

And it seems that console LAN parties are starting to take over. With all these outrageous system requirements for some of the newer PC games it sort of makes PC LAN parties rather expensive for modern game as not only do you have to buy the same game as your friends, you also might have to upgrade your hardware to run it.
