Miss the old retro consoles?
Anyone miss the old retro consoles like the NES, SNES, Genesis etc.?
I sort of do, while I like the new consoles, and think they are a significant improvement from the old games, BUT I still remember the days of when simple non-3D graphics would provide hours of enjoyment. For some reason, it's not the same with most modern games. I remember playing various retro games again a few times even after I beat it. Or if I'd get stuck on a level I'd keep trying till I beat it. With the new games if I get stuck, I just try again, and if no avail, then just play another game and go back to it later. Plus the controllers have changed a bit as well, before they were rather simple, now they have more keys and analog sticks. The d-pad is hardly used as well. Ah yes and one more memory...blowing the cartridges lmao. Xbox Gamer Blog Read The Forum Rules Pwnem Veteran <- This explains what it is and how to become one. |

WELL YEAH..i love old consoles...i epesically love the SNES i think it is the best system ever..<3 the graphics...the older games were made harder and most of the time no save points or just passwords.....now a days it's easier to get back into a game because it's just there

RE: Miss the old retro consoles?
Hey yeah I can agree on the part where you could play those games for hours and keep playing, I only had about 3 games for my sega and I played them for like 2 years even after clocking them after about 2 months haha.
I got a new game Socom 3, I clocked it now I haven't touched the Ps2 in 5 weeks. ![]() -- ![]() TinyPic Is the best (: Check out my blog Image Link Storage: http://i29.tinypic.com/125jmkn.gif http://i29.tinypic.com/rw0v29.gif |

Yep...if you had a Sega Genesis and had any of the Sonic games, you were pretty much set. Some other good ones were Golden Axe & Vectorman.

RE: Miss the old retro consoles?
Yeah it's still missing quite a few good retro games that it should have...
Do you play them using the Wii Classic controller or do you just use the Gamecube controller? I haven't had the chance to try out the Classic controller yet but it does have a nice design as well as looks more comfortable than the Gamecube controller. i miss the games more though... if they could just remake all those games into the newer systems... just the graphics i think, that would be great... |

RE: Miss the old retro consoles?
On the PS2 there's a lot of remakes.
But the game disc usually comes with games from a specific company, some that I can remember off the top of my head: Capcom, Midway, Sega. Xbox Gamer Blog Read The Forum Rules Pwnem Veteran <- This explains what it is and how to become one. |

GaMeR Wrote:Yeah it's still missing quite a few good retro games that it should have... The classic controller is amazing, I wish they'd designed them that well for the SNES. To me the Gamecube controller is a pestilence. I refuse to use it anymore. I think they're still re-releasing them all for VC- did I mention I really want Yoshi's Island (SNES)? :p I used to spend hours and hours playing that... I remember when it came out geez I was 5 :p |
