Mirrors looks like it might actually might be a decent horror film.

The storyline:

A new security guard at a burned down department store starts to notice strange things in the mirror. He later finds out what's inside them and tries to stop them before it's too late for him and his family.

Trailer:

It looks like it has potential, but also incredibly cheesy. As much as it's nice to see Hollywood try and be more 'open' in it's horror by using kids more, the next movie I see with "creepy child 'a' "...

Anyway, I also can't help but think of the urban legend 'bloody Mary', you know, say her name x times (Most common is 3 or 13) in front of a mirror and she'll come out and kill you...

Yeah I thought it had to do with some urban legend as well.

Sadly, that might have made the movie better..

I thought it looked pretty good. I wouldn't mind taking the time to see it. I should go sometime.

I saw this a few days ago, and surprisingly it was actually a good horror film IMO. The beginning is a bit odd though as you see a gorey scene and at first it doesn't make sense..

Overall the movie wasn't really scary but a few scenes will keep you in suspense. Also, the ending surprised me.

Ever since Shammylammylama started failing in the scary/suspense department, I haven't had faith in any scary movies.

This one is no different. It doesn't even look or sound scary. Maybe it'd scare my younger sister or other people her age, but older people have no business being scared from stuff this corny.

I remember back in the days scary movies were scary. Now it's all special effects and strange camera angles.

Although I suppose this is better than the whole 'The Ring' escapade where every single movie started having some little ghost girl with long hair. God that was awful. Not to mention The Ring was in turn a remake of the Japanese movie "Ringu".

Well the whole idea of mirrors out to get you is sort of corny, but it's better than the typical serial killer, possessed doll, and/or cheesy monster plot often found in present day horror movies.

And if the movie doesn't fit one of the above, then the producers will probably just add a bunch of gore to it to classify it as horror.
