Im here to tell you about a EXTREAMLY fun 2D side scrolling MMORPG known as

~Maple Story~

In Maple Story you roam a virtual world killing monsters and completing quests. With a variety of servers and individual channels you cant go wrong in making the right choice. You can interact with other players and customize your character with the many different equips.

Tried that game out a while back. It never held my interest really.

I played it a while back, it was OK.

At first it was sort of fun, but after a while I lost interest in it.

same here, its kinda neat but... nothing amazing

I never actually tried it, but from what I've seen of screenshots.... Meh. And the thing is there's a lot of hype about it too. So I dunno. I prob won't try it.

Well it might be due to the Anime-ish looking characters, as that seems to appeal to people.

As for the gameplay, it depends on what class you play as. My friend said it was a lot more fun playing as a Mage or Thief. My character was a Warrior Fighter, and there wasn't much to do aside from the essential stuff (leveling up strength, wearing better armor/weapons etc.) I don't remember being able to cast spells or having any special abilities. As for quests, they were alright. But I didn't get too far in the game so maybe the game would of gotten more interesting down the road..

I would not recommend to play this game.

This game has a horrible community.

It's only good if you have friends to play with; it's only good if you have experience under your belt [it's not newb-friendly]; it's only good if you have money to spend on the game; it's only good if you have a lot of time for it.

I have experienced this FIRSTHAND for 2 years and still going.

Don't ask me why I still play this game.

By the way, there are many more reasons why you shouldn't play this game.

One good reason to play this game is; you might actually like it.

I actually like the anime-ish type mmorgp's (one that I played for a little was a game called T-crew, but got over that for the repetitiveness of it). But this game seems too generic to me.... Kill, lvl up, buy, kill, etc...
And as oneillz said, from what I've heard from a friend, the community sucks ass.

The community is over 9000 12-year olds, of course it would suck.

Maple Story is ALMOST as bad as runescape, but it appeals to the weeaboo community instead of the nerd community.

You want a good free non-computer intensive MMO with a decent (see: over 14) community, try Anarchy Online.

I remember when I had a monthly subscription to Anarchy Online. It was my first MMORPG.
