How come there isn't a Lost Odyssey thread already started? I already signed up here and thought that this was a serious gaming forum and I come to find out that there isn't even a LO thread started! It comes out tomorrow guys! What does everyone think? What's the word on this game? Good, bad what?!

Well with the music composer from Final Fantasy at least we can be somewhat assured that the music won't suck. The music in the official trailer was pretty good.

As for gameplay, I found a video of the Japanese version in play. And it's a turn based RPG, which is not a bad thing IMO...The battle they showed was pretty good. And the character actually fought the enemy when you did an attack, it wasn't like in those cheap RPGs where the character just slashes once and then goes back to their original stance. It's going to cost $59.99 I believe which is a bit steep. But perhaps the game is worth it.

I'd rent it to be on the safe side though.

I've yet to buy it after it's release, but I've only heard good things. I also enjoy the fact it is turn-based fighting. I personally am a big fan of the Final Fantasy series, especially FFVII, so this kind of fighting style is more my thing.

I'm hoping it turns out to be just what the 360 ordered when it comes to RPGs. Microsoft hasn't been able to put out a decent RPG for either its XBox or XBox 360 console. I'll update you guys on how good it is once I purchase it. Got to wait for the paycheck though.

Pardon my French, but f*ck that! What you MEAN to say is decent JAPANOPHILE rpg, being that Mass Effect/KOTOR/KOTOR2/Jade Empire were amazing, they just didn't have all the little cute anime expressions and cuddly hindsight moral obligations.

I'll agree that KOTOR and KOTOR 2 were good fun. I love the Star Wars Universe and its concepts. However, they were too short in my opinion. I always expect RPGs to take a lot longer than the KOTOR series did, so that it can have a great storyline and character development.

Microsoft just hasn't been able to bring an RPG series to its system nearly as successful as something like Final Fantasy series.

This is all my opinion by the way, and completely subjective.

Meh, to be honest I preferred Mass Effect over FFVII, and FFVII was, in my honest opinion, the only GOOD 3D Final Fantasy game. The thing with KOTOR/Mass Effect is that YOU decide how long it takes you, whether you decide to visit every planet and complete every subquest, or just rush the main quest and get it over with. The Final Fantasy games sometimes had segments of this, but not on the freeform scale of Mass Effect.

I used to be in LOVE with Final Fantasy, among other Square titles (Star Ocean anyone?) a year or so back when I creamed my pants over anything from or related to Japan (weeaboo, yessum), but since then have discovered what a sick, disgusting, immoral place most of Japan has become since WWII (and western influence), and have given up my dream of moving there. I'd visit, but something about 50 grown men with cellphone cameras drawn huddled around a 10 year old girl in daisy-dukes and a pushup bra peeing on the ground while the men take pictures makes me NOT want to move there, or be associated with them. I understand all of Japan isn't like this, some areas still have honor, dignity and respect for women, but those are the only places I'd VISIT anyway. Plus a lot of Japanese I've met online/on XBL (there are few) are xenophobic assholes.

But yeah, I loved Mass Effect, I personally think it whupped anything the PS3 could and will offer, including that new Final Fantasy.

Gamer... what games don't, lmfao? PS3/Xbox 360 games have pretty much always cost 60$ since THE LAUNCH OF THE CONSOLE! No new news, here.

I'm used to the Wii and PC game pricing :P

However, there are indeed $59.99 titles for those consoles as well, but for the most part new releases are $49.99 (or even less in some cases).

As for the Xbox not having good RPGs, what about Morrowind? It was the first RPG for the Xbox as well I believe (I'm referring to the classic Xbox btw). Anyway, let us know how it is once you play it, Bad Omen.
