so today, I can't get on Xbox Live, hotmail isn't working same goes for xbox.com..what gives?

Xbox & Hotmail seem to be working right now for me.

Not sure about Live though...However, it tends to go down all of the sudden for like 30 mins. or so at least from my experience. But for some reason my friends are still able to connect as last time that this occurred I checked via Xbox.com and all seemed fine for them. So I'm not sure why this happens.

i havent been able to sign in all day apart from about 10 mins ago

I just signed in about 2 minutes ago and it was fine.

Could be network maintenance.

It may have just been applying an update between Xbox Live and the hotmail system.. It's happened to me once before.. I couldn't get on live, tried xbox.com to see what was up, xbox.com wasn't working, so I tried my hotmail to see if I got a message explaining something, and hotmail wouldn't work.. But that was a couple months ago.

ah well i finnaly got on, hope that doesn't happen alot... : /

I think all you have to do is "Recover Gamer Tag." It usually happens to me and I can't get it up for a couple minutes so I just log out of the game and Recover my gamer tag. If that still doesn't work, make sure all the cords are plugged in properly ;) lol

No, live actually goes down.. As in it doesn't work whatsoever. It happens occasionally, but they sometimes give a reason, such as maintenance or updating, etc.

Anyhow, might close this thread.
