Laptop Halp!
For my 16th Birthday I have decided to treat myself to a laptop. The only problem is I don't know which one to get at all. Bummer right?
Here are some things I am looking for: - Vista - Photoshop - Alot of Memory - School Programs : Office/Adobe - Flash Professional 8 - Alright Graphic Card to play ROMS Any suggestions? If you do please leave a link or any information you have. Thanks PwnEm members! ![]()

RE: Laptop Halp!
Well if you give us a price range as well as store preference (not necessary but it helps narrow it down) we can assist you.
As for the programs you mentioned, any PC with 1GB+ RAM could handle those programs assuming you're only running one program at a time and perhaps a web browser alongside. And as for the video card, what emulators are you looking to run? Xbox Gamer Blog Read The Forum Rules Pwnem Veteran <- This explains what it is and how to become one. |

RE: Laptop Halp!
graphics card doesnt really matter for roms unless its like dreamcast or something
you need vista laptops come with home edition which without the preloaded shite they add it runs 60+ processes on startup which takes about 700mb ram in itself so if you had vista you would need like 4gb ram unless you actually know what your doing get XP i had photoshop running on my old pc with 384mb ram and 2gb should be enough even my dual core pc i game with has 2gb and im emulatiing gamecube on that besides i need to know if you live in the UK or USA and a budget so i can find 1 im using a macbook late august 2006 with a 2ghz dual core and 224mb internal graphics i fitted 2gb ram and it runs xp and does all of your list so something like i have should be cheap ![]() |

RE: Laptop Halp!
Vista...thats all they come with now
- Photoshop..you have to buy separate. - Alot of Memory..umm lets stick with just a gig or maybe 2 thats all you will need. - School Programs : Office/Adobe..you can get office but like I said you have to get adobe separate - Alright Graphic Card to play ROMS...they come with chipsets not cards, and if you want cheap you might have to sacrifice quality for price. didn't have a thread about like this a while back? ![]()

RE: Laptop Halp!
Notebooks don't come with Photoshop, and you might not be able to get on with Flash professional either.

RE: Laptop Halp!
If you really want photoshop, take my advice and get a mac. Industry standard for a reason.
If its just to mess around with then I have an HP notebook that I use for play and school that gets the job done. HP Pavilion dv6700t Special Edition *Vista *Runs photoshop (separate install) *Intel® Core 2 Duo Processor T9300 (2.50GHz) *15.4" Monitor *256MB NVIDIA GeForce 8400M GS *4GB DDR2 System Memory (2 Dimm) *Webcam + Fingerprint Reader *Wireless and Bluetooth built in *12 cell lithium battery *Office/Adobe (built in) *Lightscribe CD/DVD burner *energy star qualified Not a bad investment if I say so myself. I will have a mac one day, but I needed PC for school. (it works well for gaming as well) ![]() Rules of the Forum | Guide to PwnEm.com |
