ISO Help
OK so My older copy of Star wars Empire at War Gold expansion has been scratched badly...bad enough to the point of unable to be read..fortunatly there are bittorrents out there that i can get another copy of. only problem is for some reason i cant burn them to a dvd as an ISO...or any other format for that matter. So i am kinda boned at that. Is there another kind of software that im unaware of that burns DVD-ROMs straight to disk?
(also remindng that i bought the original game, so it's perfectly legal to create just this one copy for Back-up use) ![]()

RE: ISO Help
Well assuming the file you downloaded is a real ISO backup you should be able to burn it using:
ISO Recorder or DeepBurner Both are free programs and they burn the Linux ISOs I use without any problems. Also, a lot of those game backups won't run from the burned disc due to copy protections so you might have to patch the game. RE: ISO Help
Have thought about trying one of those buffer kits? You know the ones that fix damaged cds. How did it get so scratched anyway? I got 10 year old cds and 7 year old games without a fingerprint on them, much less a scratch.

RE: ISO Help
Yeah buffering it might do the trick as well.
If you don't have the machine to do it then one of your local video game shops might. They'll probably charge you around $5 which is cheaper than another copy of the game. That's how my friend fixed his scratched GTA IV, it worked like new after the buffering. Counter Strike 300 Read The Forum Rules Pwnem Veteran <- This explains what it is and how to become one. |
