omg has anyone else seen the new iphone? i saw it today and the black back makes it look really sexy i had the 1st gen one and hated it but the new on it=s the same but has 3G, GPS and a new coloured back!!!!! :| .......im really excited about it!!! .... my god i have the traits of a apple fanboy!

Nah, I've just seen the 1st gen.

As for the new features, the GPS will be definitely be useful to most people. I can see it now, "Turn right, take the next exit...Dude is your iPod telling you how to get to my house?....No, you've had too many drinks....Oh, okay."

Getting that iPhone at an affordable price..2 year contract.

Its still the same phone, except more expensive. With GPS ... (when the first generation had google maps which is about the same) and they are using the same lcd screens which have had nothing but problems since it first came out.

Still no MMS ... Only way to get ringtones is to hack the phone or pay outrageously for them.

So really its a 1st generation with a new back .... and the ability to go 3g ... which isnt much faster than what you get with wi-fi.


You must have a contract with at&t to activate the phone. It cost price of phone ... plus 30 a month for unlimited data (not including text) and whatever you pay for your plan ... so really ... its not worth it.

So

60 a month 1st line (700 mins)
10 a month for 2nd line (shared mins)
30 a month for data
15 a month for 1500 text
______________________

115 plus tax ....

The price of the phone should start at around 400 (they say 200 but thats a crock of shit)

400 + (115x24) = 3160 for 2 years of crap.

Ill go down to my local metro and pay 50 for unlimited everything and have the ability for MMS and my own ringtones and be happier than with the outrageous prices they are trying to charge for the iphone.

I've got better things to spend my money on than an overpriced palmpilot with a touch screen.

Its overpriced hipster garbage. Trust me, it's a Apple product, 7 year olds can use it.

As Speckren said, I don't need to pay upwards of thousands of dollars just so I can look cool in a Starbucks while I tap away at a blog comment blasting someone over there views on Naruto or some other irrelevant show/shit like that.

Thats harsh. I still stand by Apple products being first rate. And you do have to remember that this is Apple going into the cellphone business for the first time. There is bound to be faults. And personally I don't understand people wanting to customize their phone with wallpapers and ringtones. I don't give a flying flip about customization or making it personal. I didn't with my old, I wouldn't with a new one.
And the problem with touch screen is people are whacking it too hard with the finger. Thats the price you pay for not wanting a stylus.

First time or not, they still could have done way better.

They had a chance to redeem themselves with the 2nd generation and they are blowing it. They are only adding 3g and GPS? I mean come on. The GPS part isn't even confirmed yet. Really all that has been confirmed is the new coloring and the 3g.

Its not about the customization. Its about the fact that the iPhone is supposedly superior in technology compared to other phones and is a step in a new direction and they didn't even do the best that they could with it. Its about the fact they could have put way more time, thought and effort into it to make it a damn good phone. It's almost a rip off and I am kicking myself in the ass for buying it. I did research and I did wait almost a year before I bought it but I didn't realize that it was as bad as folks said it was. I figured they were just pissy about the lack of customizable features and what not. But they weren't lying. Its really a waste of money. I have had more problems with this one phone than I have with the previous 12 cellphones ive owned combined. I might be a little harsh about it but seriously its not for lack of effort on giving the phone a decent chance. Its my personal opinion from my personal experience with it.

Bound to be faults, but the faults should be minimal and less noticeable. Cell phones became extremely affordable... a decade ago.

Jeez, Apple. Learn some business/marketing strategies.
