RE: i need some advice in a good comp.
How about an HP desktop? They're excellent for gaming, and work perfect for what the average person does.
Here's one if you wanna check it out. http://www.shopping.hp.com/webapp/shoppi...00y_series There's also the Dell XPS'. They've gotten so much better lately (Maybe it's because they bought out Alienware <_< >_> ) I managed to get this one down to about $840s with no monitor, keyboard, speakers, a 128MB ATi Radeon X3100, and 2 GBs of RAM, so it might be one to consider if you can stretch that budget a bit. http://www.dell.com/content/products/pro...l=en&s=dhs ![]() cactuar's_bitch Wrote:and work a lil on your grammar cuz i fonud allot of spelign erowrs. |

RE: i need some advice in a good comp.
The problem with those above is that they just include the PC tower, no monitor or other stuff. And it sucks to use your old monitor on a new PC.
However, if you already have a decent monitor then it may be more worthwhile, but you might also want to look into a cheaper solution: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?...7444938260 That's just the tower as well. It has a semi-decent video card, you might want to spend another $100 on getting a good one though. And for the most part, almost all integrated cards are low end, and usually only Alienwares or PCs that cost $1000+ actually have a good graphics card. http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?...8800050001 ^ Or get that, pay a bit more but you get the monitor, and then you just have to buy the video card. The advantage of the first I listed is that it has 2GB of RAM while the 2nd one with the monitor only has 1GB. So the 2GB one will perform a lot better. RE: i need some advice in a good comp.
Also, the Compaq you posted has an Intel Celeron processor. Out of experience (My laptop has one), they're utter trash for gaming. Also the on-board video card is similar to mine (Mine is 128 MB though), and they're not very good (Can barely handle RtCW in 32-bit).
I say, from GaMeR's list, go with the Gateway due to its dual-core processor, and the nVIDIA video card. ![]() cactuar's_bitch Wrote:and work a lil on your grammar cuz i fonud allot of spelign erowrs. |

Dizzy that first HP you posted is crap. I had one for 3 days and returned it. Not worth it for gaming at all. Just thought id throw that in there incase you checked it out Won.

RE: i need some advice in a good comp.
Well both of the ones I posted have crappy cards, but the Gateway one is a bit better. Intel cards are horrible for gaming unless it's a really old game.
That's why I said you'll probably have to spend another $100 getting a decent card for it. Xbox Gamer Blog Read The Forum Rules Pwnem Veteran <- This explains what it is and how to become one. |

RE: i need some advice in a good comp.
And keep in mind you might also be voiding the warranty by opening it... so use the PC for a bit first before removing or adding anything.
