This forum is mainly for discussing video games, not to distribute pirated software/music/movies. There are probably THOUSANDS of forums as well as other websites out there that are dedicated to piracy. If you feel the need to share such files, then do it on those other websites. That's the purpose of them.

As for the rule being stupid, blame the United States government not me. And take the TPB for instance, the reason they haven't been shut down is because the country they are in protects them. If they were in America they would of gotten their ass arrested a long time ago. And yeah I see your point about it being nearly impossible for ONE link to shutdown the forum, but the point is, if we allow it now it will become a habit. And I like I previously stated this is NOT a file sharing forum. Therefore I have no intentions of allowing such things. Plus if the website ever becomes large enough to get mainstream media exposure, having illegal content may cause problems. Do you see IGN or GameSpot endorsing piracy? No, as a matter of fact they are a hell of a lot more strict than us. You can't even mention something remotely close to piracy, even without posting links.

Anyway, I'm done discussing such issues in this thread. If you'd like to continue the argument please make a new thread about it in the suggestions section.

Anywho, it's an album of a defunct band who's been dropped by their label for years now. Again, there is no one around who COULD sue us, unless someone feels like buying out a defunct band just to go and ground a forum with a grand total of 20-30 active members.

Honestly, this paranoia is unneeded and frankly, silly.

Also, IGN and Gamespot are horrible gaming forums anyhow.

Normally I don't mind what you say and do, but this time, you are getting a little too pushy for your own good. Besides, GaMeR will delete the link over and over again no matter how many times you post it. So let it go bro. Don't go all gangster here.

Since he willingly removed the links himself as well as the other content, no need to keep arguing. However, I'll admit that he did have a point about the ability of the band being able to sue. I looked up the details about them, and it appears that neither the band nor their record label are functional anymore. Therefore, technically they wouldn't be able to sue us. But their music is still copyrighted, therefore the copyright laws still apply..It's a gray area really, but it's best to stay on the safe side. And if SnakeTheFox really wants to "spread" their music I'm sure he knows where to go and how to do that.
