And violence isn't the only problem.

There are a bunch of kids nowadays who don't take education seriously and are up for a rude awakening once mommy and daddy leave them :P

To survive with a decent wage nowadays you need a college education, and at the very least, a high school diploma (in the USA anyway).

And yes it's possible to make it big via the entertainment business as well as other things but the chances are slim. Unless you're able to start up a successful business, you won't get too far as an employee IMO.

If you can claim some US land and sell it right after, you can make some huge profit.

Well I don't think you can just "claim" land, if you mean buying it and then reselling it, then yes that's possible.

However, the real estate market seems to be doing bad nationwide in the US at the moment.. And while you might be able to sell your home/property, you won't get as much as you would of gotten let's say a year ago or so (from my observations anyway).

No, their is still a legal right for a US citizen to claim Government property just by paying a filing fee. It is not theirs, it is supposed to belong to the people.

I have a huge disagreement with that.

Getting a 'college education' does NOT guarantee you a safe mode as far as financial wages go. It just UPS your CHANCES of getting that job.

Remember; college isn't for everybody. School isn't for everybody.

I don't even think college does you much better either. You are stuck with student loans for 15 years unless your parents have money.

Exactly.

It's either your rich or you're poor. There's no middle ground.

You go to college with all the 'student loans'. You're 'supposed' to get the degree of your job so that you can 'PAY' your student loans, instead of the pursuit of happiness.

RE: Harvard Medical = Smart
Actually right now you DO need an education, and lots of company's will not higher you with anything less than a bachelors degree. The economy is screwed. Everyone is fighting for jobs that pay sometimes less then what they were making before. There are ways of getting around this, and luck might be your friend but because the fact that economy is failing, chances are you are not going to get a decent job without an college education. My mom worked in the mortgage industry and was laid off last year ... She only has a high school diploma and the same industry that she has worked in for 40 years will not higher her back in without a college degree, if thats not crap please tell me what is. It's not just my mom it's happening too.

You can get one of those without student loans though. Community colleges are cheaper education and may not be the best but sometimes they offer great programs as well as the government aid. Last semester I was taking 8 classes and only had to pay $7.50 for tuition and financial aid (not a loan, just free money) paid for my books without me having to pay them back and left me with a little money left over to help cover my costs of living. It might not be the best but at least i'm getting a degree and have a better shot at a good career before the robots take over.

There are very few things that I am passionate about and education is one of them. I f'kd my life up by not graduating high school. I am lucky to even have the opportunity to go to college. The other thing is parenting, and pawning your kids off to the TV is not parenting in my eyes. So to get back on topic, it may not be the reasoning behind why kids are becoming more increasingly violent but it is a contribution. The childs mind is still growing and being molded. How is killing something over and over and over again not going to mold a mind to show that it's not okay to do? They train our military and securities by repetition and that is a lot of what kids do with games. A kid learns about violence and sex and all that jazz from games and media. The parent is suppose to teach them the right from wrongs of it all ... but they don't.

RE: Harvard Medical = Smart
Hmm... Ashley, right now you just convinced me that I need to get off my butt and start applying. Seriously.

I mean my best friend tells me go apply for college and stuff, and I value his opinion so much but I just... don't do it >< I don't know why...

I'm just not passionate about formal education. I know that you do need it I just... don't want to. -.-

Thanks though. I think I made up my mind.
