Guitar Hero For PC!

RE: Guitar Hero For PC!
I'm not sure if I've posted this in this thread yet or not, but I've always found the Guitar Hero/Rock Band series to not only be too gimmicky, but to be an excuse for otherwise musically talentless kids to get in with there "peers" by jamming out on a toy with rainbow buttons.

It's fun in groups, possibly while drunk/buzzed, but then you see all these Middle School kids treating it like it's some grand right of passage into coolville, spending day and night practicing when they could be doing the same with a real instrument.

For the record, I know quite a few musicians, none famous however. Most of them, especially the bassists/guitarests, while they occasionally enjoy the GH games, find it pretty pathetic that kids treat it like it's actually important, which it isn't, it's a plastic toy with colored buttons, and isn't anything like playing a real guitar. While some people realize this and are in it for the fun, some don't, and actually treat it like they should be respected to near-musician levels for there "feats". And I for one am not fond of those who are like this.

I don't know if you guys know the kind of people I'm talking about, and I pray you never find them near you.

RE: Guitar Hero For PC!
Sadly enough, I know of one.... My brother... He spent days on end playing and practicing so he could beat me... And he now can.

BUT the only thing is, he's got hands that are like twice the damned size of mine, he doesn't even have to slide his hand..

I just play for laughs and to enjoy myself once in a while... I don't really see it as much of a big deal if there's someone better than me. But seeing someone spend 10+ hours trying to perfect Welcome To The Jungle on expert really strikes me as quite sad... And yes that was my brother who did that.

RE: Guitar Hero For PC!
eh...my thoughts on PC game with GH...all I have is 2 words "Epic Fail"

I like their enthusiasm with trying to bring the entire gaming community together with one game using various consoles...but I still think they shoulda left it in the console area whre that is concerned. I used to play guitar all the time...and I sucked at Guitar hero when it first came out..it kinda frustrated me with the "realsim" that didnt exist. =/ But i can play it better now so I could care less. =p lol

RE: Guitar Hero For PC!
The main advantage of the PC version of this game as well as the clones of it is custom songs. While this can be achieved on the console versions, you need to have a modded console.

As for people taking it seriously, I play it once in a while but don't ever stress over it. The mobile version of it is quite good IMO.

Yeah, I pointed that out in an earlier post... I think that's why this thread has had so many views... From exterior people looking for info on it.

RE: Guitar Hero For PC!
Since most song packs contain copyrighted songs it's hard to find a site that will host them due to legal issues. The only way to get them is through mediums such as torrent websites. Download a torrent client and go on any torrent site and look for a "frets on fire song pack." You should be able to find plenty of them.
