Those of you who were here a while back, will remember that i really didn't have a solid opinion on things, i was easyly swayed from left to right >which is how i drive >.< three weeks with a car ^-^< but i took some time off to explore the gamer within.

What i discovered was not a gamer that was interested in getting a three sixty and going all out on CoD4 or Halo3, nor was there a guy who wanted to get a ps3 to play mgs4. But rather a general gamer.
I'm not sure if that term has been used, but i claim it as mine and will redefine it for the sake of this thread and myself.

A general gamer is a gamer who doesn't really own a nextgen console, nor is he/she really interested in obtaining one, he/she rather tries to be content with what he/she has, and also tries to become the best in what he/she is not good at.

This revolation occured to me after i tired to play Star Wars the empire strikes back on my snes, and couldn't get past the first stage with out continuing, it hit me like a brick to the head. "Why do i need to get a next-gen console when i have tons of games i haven't even come close to beaten?'' so from then on i have been playing my snes and all of its bountiful games, not to mention my comp with two mmo's WoW >no one judge me for i have a good reason x.x< and GunZ, which is a great game which can cause c-gerz to those who go in unprepared.

But i didn't make this thread to talk about me, i wanna know what kind of gamerz you pplz are.

I'm a gamer that plays game with what I've got.

My brother has the slim PS2 and he sometimes buys games like, Guitar Hero, San Andreas, FOOTBALL [which I don't play XD].

So whatever he buys, I'm always the one ending up beating the game and obviously being the best at it. :D

If I had to put pick a system, I would pick the Wii because it's just fun ya know????? Next would be XBOX because my friends that are WOMEN have it :D. And last would be PS3 cause they don't really focus on games.

Also, I have my computer so of course, there are TONS of games for me to choose from. But I'm too picky when it comes to computer games XP but believe when I say I've played a thousand games on the internet. :D

you seem more like a retro gamer more than anything.

some people who i know, don't have a next gen console yet, and i believe it's because nothing this gen has been as good as anything released last gen. So are more inclined to play the games they already have because they are still awesome, and will get a "next gen console" when they are as cheap as the cube/ps2 and Xbox is now.

I have next gen because I don't have an NES, SNES, Gameboy, Gameboy color, Gameboy advance.

im not sure what the term is for my status, im a mixture of hardcore gamer and retro gamer. and abe i can kind of relate to what you are saying as well... i mean, my next gen console is a dreamcast lol.

i don't refer to myself as a retro gamer cause that would mean that i would only play the retro games, i have n64 and ps2, so i have the mid-gen when i need something three de. and i also play WoW now, so that disqualifies me as a retro gamer.

I like to call myself casual. Simply because the games I play aren't the type that suck your life away *kicks World of Warcraft box under bed*, joking aside, even with WoW, I can take it in moderation. I get the games I like, or that friends recommend. My game library is filled with more 'retro' games than modern ones, I have to say... but excuse me... my Charmeleon is evolving!
