Final Fantasy, Handheld Remakes VS. Originals
Which do you prefer, the originals, or the remakes for handheld devices?

Remakes:

Pros.
USUALLY Improved graphics
Portable!

Cons.
USUALLY a slightly changed storyline
Seemingly easier, and shorter

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Originals:

Pros.
Old/rare
Awesome

Cons.
Bad graphics
Old/rare

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Have something to add to one of these lists? Post it!

What gives me the right to put this? Nothing, but, I can give my own opinion, as I have played remakes, including FF3 (DS Version) FF1+2+5 (GBA) FF1 (Original Nintendo, I can't remember the name :S) FF7 PS2 and more, but I can't think of them ATM...

Out of the millions of billions of things to put here, I chose to put this.

RE: Final Fantasy, Handheld Remakes VS. Originals
Final Fantasy IV for the DS looks like a major improvement from the original. Still haven't played it yet though.

As for the rest you mentioned I've played FF3 and at least one of the GBA FF games, can't remember which though. I thought they were pretty good handheld adaptations.

As for which is better, definitely the originals as if it wasn't for them the remakes wouldn't have been made :P But for normal use I'd prefer the "portable remakes" as I can take them on the go as I have a DS.

RE: Final Fantasy, Handheld Remakes VS. Originals
I always enjoy the originals more than remakes. They are stuck in the gaming universe as groundbreaking history. I would love remakes to death if the storyline stayed exactly the same, and the graphics were greatly improved in comparison to originals.

RE: Final Fantasy, Handheld Remakes VS. Originals
I'm a sucker for the originals.. I don't own any myself (apart from FFVIII and IX), but I got the rest on emulator...

And has anyone realised that majority of the main characters from I - VI look "feminine"...
