that's correct, you had to have 4 GBA's and 4 link cables.
But think about it...ONLINE!
Online with Nintendo's Pay To Play service, It could work quite nice.
lmao!
If you are banking a success purely on online gaming, then that's wrong.
It should also have a good single player mode. It's like you're saying to me; whoever buys the next gen consoles must buy everything included with it, such as online play, or what have you.

MMORPG's aren't really restricted to PC's. The only reason they're on PC's currently, is because PC's used to be the only system that had the internet.. But now that consoles have the ability to connect to the internet, it might be interesting for a console MMORPG... Anyway, if you break it down into parts, MMORPG is:
Massive Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game. Now, If I recall, Fable 2 is going to be online playable, and it is an RPG. So yeah, take from that what you will...
O2 - Orange Range (Extended Opening Theme for CG R2)
But is it a Massive Multiplayer? I don't think so.
There are tons more PC's then there are consoles and even more games for the PC that are MMORPG.
Just because the next gen consoles have internet [which they SHOULD've had it years ago] doesn't mean they are going to focus their game on an MMORPG. That would be bad on the company's part because of the internet itself.
