Deleting Posts/Threads
I've decided to disable the deletion of your own posts/threads for the regular usergroup.

However, Veterans will be able to delete their own posts, but not threads. Why am I doing this?

While the deletion of your own posts/threads is currently not a problem, as the forum continues to grow it may turn into one.
Here are some scenarios of how this privilege could be abused by a member:

*A member starts flaming another member and then decides to delete the post to cover their tracks.
*A member starts a thread to cause problems and trys to be a smartass by deleting it after they got the results they wanted in order to avoid getting noticed by the forum staff.

And so on...

BTW, all your actions are logged and monitored regardless of your usergroup. So don't abuse your privileges as I'll find out.

If for some reason you'd like to delete a thread that you made due to a reasonable reason, for example you decide it's too personal etc. then contact either me or another staff member. Or report the post, and state the reason why you'd like it to be deleted.

RE: Deleting Posts/Threads
Good Idea. Plus I don't like the idea of members going through the forum deleting everything they started.

i.e. A forum I was apart of once had this really popular thread going, but the OP was banned for a month. When he came back, he deleted EVERY post and thread he had and then created another one with threats and other weird things. :(

RE: Deleting Posts/Threads
I have to admit, I think I use this function a LOT.

But it's not because I flame and stuff, it's more of a security from plagiarizing...

My most recent deletion was my thread of my earlier poem and just now I was about to delete my more recent poem.

Also, I posted photoshops and stuff of its original size and I'm just a lil scared that someone is just gonna take it T_T [That was before because I made modifications and stuff now]

As for the reasons Gamer said about disabling this option; I'm fine with it. I just have to be really more picky and careful now.

Well he said the Veterans are allowed to delete their own posts. So you can knock yourself out with that. But yeah, be careful about what you make a thread about. :P

Well if you want to protect your tutorials for instance, watermark them!

As for your written work such as poems, stories etc. that's a bit harder to protect. However, what you could do is post the text into an image and watermark it. Sure, someone could still copy it, but it'd be a lot harder for them to do so as they can't just copy and paste it.
