I doubt you've had American food. Assuming Mcdonalds is the only "American food" is like assuming Chicken and Fried Rice is the only "Chinese Food". Most of us only eat Mcdonalds or other associated Fast Foods weekly, tops, and normally only when we're on road trips where we cant stop to eat at a decent sit-down restaurant like Outback Steakhouse or something.
