RE: CSS TOURNAMENTS
If you're in a CS:S clan I believe there are special tournaments for that.

As for local tournaments, I'm not sure as I don't live in that state nor am I too familiar with such tournaments to be honest. However, from my understanding a lot of those local tournaments are either done in major gaming events or simply by local PC related businesses. For example, check to see if there are any computer cafes in your area that have gaming PCs. A good portion of them usually have such tournaments.

You might also have some luck in the local Steam powered cafes: Check HERE!

Hope that helped.

RE: CSS TOURNAMENTS
Big toury's are held at things like quakecon, the most you can do from your own house is join in Cal Clans...the only problem with that is you have to have some serious skill. Cal season has already started I think, Im not sure you might have to check with the server stats or the at valve or something. Im not into getting into cal....Ide rather play the game for fun. If you can create your own team from where you live you can start your own toury's....Public Lan parties are the Sure fire way to start competitions.
but like I said, Build a local Team...Advertise at your lan cafe and see how many would like to join in...but also make some variety in it as well, Team fortess 2 is a good game to play as far as teams go.

I like Deagle's post up there Altair. I would just start a tournament myself. It would keep it more contained and you won't get killed so much.
