If the X-box 720 ( Officially named x-box) came out but you couldn't use X-box 360 games on it, would you still buy it? (Keeping in mind, that unless you keep the 360, you won't be able to play any previous halo games)

Well that depends what it offers in terms of usage, and what new features it has.

I'll get it for sure. But maybe not immediately, there are so many games that I still have to play on the current xbox :p

Also releasing a console without backwards compatibility nowadays, would be a bad move, considering there are still a lot of games to be released on the 360.

It indeed won't be a very consumer-friendly thing to do but then again, Sony ditched us fairly quickly with the PS3 and technically the 360 isn't 100% backwards compatible either. In that respect, Nintendo was on point with the Wii BUT still screwed us by not letting us transfer our downloadable games over...

Anyway, it won't be a total deal breaker but will be hesitant to get one on launch due to the limitation.

Who cares about BC these days? If someone wants to play an older gen. game they'd buy the console for it. If they can wait, then XBLM/PSN has old games on their store. BC or lack of shouldn't be an issue.

I'm not gonna just go out and buy either of them [xbox or playstation] but I will probably be more likely to get the PS4 because of MGO 3 :)

If it didn't have backward capabilities? No way. At least not any time soon and definitely not on release. I would just wait until the 360 is so outdated and I don't want it any more. Chances are, I'd end up buying a different new console first, though.

I'll wait for a price drop eventually. Depending on their exclusive games, maybe I'll pick it up, just like how I'm waiting for a new zelda game for the Wii-U.

There are a lot of factors that will go into my decision...

To be an early adopter, initially it will be price & features. If it costs too much or loses some functionality I feel is a game breaker, then I will hold off.

Eventually though, I will probably get one at some point.

Probably gonna wait and see. Especially if it ends up having a red ring equivalent
