"So they're remaking the arcade classic Gauntlet. This is one of the very few reboots I don't actually have a problem with. That is a RARITY. Like finding a diamond at the beach. Obviously, since I have the most experience with spells I will be playing as the wizard. The game will be released this summer for the PC."

    I AM SO EXCITED.

It was about time! Looking forward to this.

I remember when the DS Gauntlet was scrapped, sad day...Kind of surprised that it seems like a PC exclusive though as this would be a hit on any of the consoles.

Oh my god, Gauntlet... granted I played on the N64, but it was a game me and my brother would play for hours on end. Then Dark Legacy came out on Gamecube and all the hours were lost to that game.

Then 7 Sorrows was released and was... not Gauntlet. Moving on...

    Omega needs new Gauntlet badly!

I had no idea they were doing a DS version, but I'm honestly kind of glad they scrapped it. I can't imagine a game like Gauntlet working out very well on a handheld.

I thought the same thing when I read that it was PC exclusive. Very odd.

I remember when my ex kept my PS2 when I moved out... but I still had Dark Legacy. One of the first things I bought myself was another PS2 just so that I could keep playing that damn game :p

And the bowling alley I used to go to constantly as a kid had the arcade version. So many hours and quarters spend on that damn thing. Ah, good times.

I remember the arcade version as well, spent a lot of quarters on that and Smash TV.

I have Gauntlet II on PSN, fairly fun with others although nowadays if I play solo, I get bored much quicker than I did with it in the classic days.

I hope this makes it to the console eventually.

It's available for pre-purchase on Steam right now, going to cost $19.99 so that's not bad at all.

Have any of you tried the new Slayer update?

I finally got around to playing it yesterday via local co-op, seems like a nice improvement so far.

Also, it's out on the PS4 as well for those who prefer it on the console.

I really wanted to buy it, but it got such terrible, terrible reviews that I didn't want to risk spending the money on it :(

There are a lot of mixed opinions, especially regarding the update. I'm pretty sure I got it on sale for around $10 or $15 so it was worth it at that price point provided that you're aware that it's just an attempt at enhancing the classic a bit and not a full blown sequel.

I have a lot of fond memories of classic Gauntlet though so maybe I'm more easily pleased :p

See, I think that's how it would be for me! Even if it's not the greatest, I'd probably still enjoy it!

I should just buy it :p

It's free this month for PSN+ members on the PS4.

Might get the DLC eventually as I hear the necromancer is good for soloing as right now I prefer to co-op campaign on my PC version.

I've been hearing this game hear and there, gotta' get soon especially now that I know there's a necromancer class, not enough games that let you have undead thingies at your beck and call.
